"We hungry underdogs, we risers with dawn, we dissmissers of odds, we blessers of on – we will station ourselves to the calm. We will hold ourselves to the steady, be ready player one."

  • I Loved a Tree Named Silvia

    wednesdayshambles:

    when I was younger
    I’d sit
    under the maple tree
    at my mother’s house
    the one that was
    dying
    but still managing
    to look half alive
    I thought she
    was beautiful

    I would sing to her
    or I’d read
    poems I had written
    out loud,
    when the wind blew
    I’d pretend she was
    rustling her leaves
    in approval

I wrote a poem for her
    about freedom
    but I never did
    read it
I didn’t want to remind her
    of something
    she could
    never have.
